I have always sewn and occassionally dabbled in fibre arts & quilting. But in the 90's when I had a high pressure job and was commuting a lot to Europe, I realized that I needed to feed my senses or I would drop. I convinced my long time co-worker, close friend and creative co-conspiritor that we needed to quilt. I had found the World Wide Quilting page with their quilt block of the month. We figured we could do one a month and have fun.

And so it begins...
Who knows were things lead? I have been ensnared in the blogging world by sending 2 IBOL packages to Iraq and then following Art LaFlamme's blog with bated breath on a daily basis. From Art, I found Kristin LaFlamme, a fibre artist/quilter, who lead me to 12 x 12 quilters and I am now in hook, line & sinker.

1st stop, yep you've got it, the fabric store. I picked greens (the blue-ish ones) and purples. Jane picked primary colors. We figured if we cut the fabric at home we could knock off a square in one night. So we'd pick a new square and cut at home. Aand when I was home for a couple of weeks, we'd have a Sew What night. By our third squares which were now ending up 12 1/2" squares for real, we realized we could do 2 a night. Amazing how different the squares looked in our different fabrics.
